I've never been anywhere (unless you count Canada) outside the US. Thanks so much for the travelogue and the fantastic pictures. You really made it seem almost as if I were along. By the way,I would have ridden with you; I'm not much for hiking. I suppose I wouldn't make it as a French woman.Scratch and sniff shouldn't be too far in the future, don't you think?
Welcome home.

Hi Carrie, Thanks for taking us through your week. I live in France but still love to see other places I haven't (yet) been able to visit. I would have been with you on the ride, walking is okay in moderation. You certainly picked the right week to be here, I don't know what it is like in the South of France but here near Limoges it's cold wet and windy, more English weather than French! Linda

*happy sigh*

Details, Carrie, J'ADORE!

It all sounds like heaven! I can smell the Lavender. It is one of my very favorite scents! What a wonderful trip.

Nicole

This was the trip of a lifetime! What a fabulous thing to have been able to do. Now when anyone asks you "how was your summer?" you will have the best stories to tell! I love France--nothing else compares. So glad you are home safe after this amazing adventure.

Cheryl Miller

What a fabulous time! Thank you for sharing your trip with us.

I have been wanting to do that trip with Kaari for a couple years now. Someday I hope to get the chance.

Mary

I loved every bit of your 'details', every single, little bit. Thank you! Now I think I have to take a French class so I can visit this beautiful place. Do you know what surprised me most in your pictures? The empty streets. But that makes the photos even more spectacular - like everyone moved out of frame just for you!

Elizabeth E.

Delightful! You've made my afternoon. I love the south of France, and like you I find wandering the streets to be such a delicious experience of color, shape, shadow, isolation, and the overwhelming desire to throw all caution to the wind and move there immediately. Then I wake up and realize I love it because it's so different from my American life. So I take a photo or two and keep walking.

Thanks for sharing all of this!

Lisa D.

Wow - thanks for the recap and all the beautiful pictures. I felt like I was (almost) there with you. Sounds like the trip of a lifetime!

dorothy

please--even more details! what a great trip--i'm so happy for you that you got to do this! i look forward to lots of french influences in your upcoming quilt designs :-)

Auntie Pami

Isn't Europe great!I love the countrysides. So much more than the cities. Chicken paella is great if you can't eat the shellfish. Keep on with the details. I can smell the lavender. And, the tomatoes, I surprised you didn't get any just to eat like an apple. So worth it! Wonder if lavender would grow in AZ? Hmmm. I would love an alle of olive trees on my driveway...

SuzK

I'm so glad you're a detail girl! You made us feel as though we were with you. The photos are wonderful, the info is great, the adventure at the Chateau sounded amazing...what a great trip. I'm with you about the lavender fields. I could be quite content laying the aisles between the flowers on a lovely summer day - what bliss! I can't wait to see the photos of your dyed wool and ribbon!

madame samm

From your eyes to ours...I don't think it could get any better...your photos, your captions, your text..truly it sounds like a trip worth repeating..and the sunshine in your room..reminded me of my days at school....We had these huge pain windows...that the sun would kiss upon our cheeks every morning ...what lovely memories they bring...I am sure you will be living this trip in your minds eye forever...

Katell

I would have loved to meet you in my city - Toulouse ! I am very happy that you had a nice time here.
