The Slinky. Silly Putty. Play-Doh. Super Glue. Post-it notes.
LSD. Corn Flakes. Dynamite. The Microwave Oven. Viagra. The Pacemaker. Velcro. Penicillin. Anesthesia.
Saccharin. Smart Dust. Coca-Cola. Teflon. Vulcanized Rubber. Plastic ~ Bakelite! Radioactivity. Mauve.
All of these things were invented by accident.
Somebody very creative and very bright was working hard to create something else and instead they created something better. Something cooler. Something that changed the world.
Make fun of Moda Lissa?
As if!?
You know... she just might be the only person who got Bibelot right.
The way it should have been.
This quilt is perfect just the way it is.
I think there was a reason Sherri had this quilt leading the parade -- it's triumphantly, tremendously, transcendently, terrifically, totally tubularly titanically tip-top, top-notch!
These Ts might be a little bit different than mine, but they definitely look like Ts... like little "muscle Ts".
Sorry, I did look for a picture of Daniel Craig in a tight t-shirt but there wasn't one to be found. And trust me, I looked. A lot.
Just in case you think I forgot, I didn't. Flying geese. Rulers!
Just so you know, if giving away Daniel Craig were an option, it wouldn't happen. I'd keep him. He and George could fold fat quarters and keep me company while I sewed.
The arm over George's shoulder belongs to Matt Damon. He could come too.
Just so long as they don't distract me from this... as some of your commented, I really do love these rulers. I also love quilts with flying geese, and quilts with stars... which have flying geese for the points. And I want you to love flying geese, especially the making flying geese part. So I went digging through drawers and baskets and any place else I could think of where I might have stashed another ruler or two, and I managed to come up with a few more rulers. So after spending a few minutes with Ms. Random Generator, here are the names of the ladies who need to check their e-mail boxes...
The winners of a set of Fit to be Geese rulers ~ an original and a mini ~ are:
#93 -- Sandy E.... who wrote: Anything that helps make sewing perfect blocks easier is what I need. I'd rather be sewing instead of un-sewing with a seam ripper. Love the tutorials that come with them too.
#3 -- Marica... who wrote: These rulers would suit me very well this month when I'll try to do a lot of flying geese. Since I have a hard time finding them here where I live so I'd like to be in the draw for them :)
#35 -- VickiT... who wrote: Wow. Look at all those very lucky people. Congratulations to you all. Thank you for the great post you did too showing off all of the great things in the book and the wonderfully lovely extra pictures making everyone smile. I would love to try the rulers. Thank you for the additional surprise chance.
#63 -- Debi... who wrote: It would be awesome to win the ruler...especially since flying geese are not my favorite blocks.
And the winners of an original Fit to be Geese ruler are:
#29 -- Diane... who wrote: How did you know a pic of Daniel would ease the disappointment of not winning the rulers and book the first go around?? Wow! is all I have to say. I'd love another chance to win those Geese rulers. I have to confess, I made Lincoln a few years back and my geese left a lot to be desired, so much so, it's never been quilted. Thanks for having another giveaway!
#30 -- Nancy, Near Philadelphia... who wrote: I'd be delighted to win these rulers. Geese are hard for me . . .
And that, chicas, is all the news I've got for this Wednesday.
Here's hoping you have an accidentally fabulous day!

Congrats to the winners and I love your new T's!

Congrats to the winners. The rulers will definitely go on my wish list for someday. I will be making the flying geese the old fashion way for Summer Days.

At first glance I thought she'd made a quilt of knickers/pants and I thought 'what a great idea' but then I looked closer and yes, they seem to be muscular men who are very comfortable with their feminine side ( and they're wearing on-trend florals!) I think George, Daniel (who recently said he'll carry on being Bond as long as they'll let him!) and Damon would make great sewing partners. Imagine if they accompanied you to the LQS sale - they could distract the queue and let you nip ahead and buy what you want!! Have a lovely Wednesday!

Congrats to the winners! They're gonna' love those rulers! I thought Moda Lissa's Bibelot/T Is For Thelma looked like such a happy accident when I first saw it! All of the Schnibbles in the parade were terrific (t!) this month! Jan

Oh how exciting. I can't wait to get the rulers and see how much they will help me since I'm still somewhat new-ish to quilting.
Thank you SO much.

I love to look at pictures of different quilts, they are inspiring. But when you throw in a picture or two of Daniel and George, you have really made my day. Thanks for sharing.

Congratulations to the winners. I was so disappointed I didn't win one of these sets but when I looked I hadn't even entered into the giveaway. Oh boy I must be getting so old.
