Not that kind!
(Thank you, Gudrun!)
This kind.
From Minnesota to Iowa, back to Minnesota and then to Virginia. Back to Minnesota and then off to the warmer weather of California. And then back to Minnesota. From there, you'll go to Indiana and then Arizona and New Jersey... with stops in Minnesota in between.
All from the comfort of your chair. (Here's hoping you have a comfortable chair.)
So what's up?
Gudrun Erla of G.E. Designs has invited eleven very cool ladies ~ well, ten very cool ladies and yours truly ~ to have some fun blog-hopping around the country starting November 9th.
Do you know Gudrun? She's very cool and super talented. I've met her several times at Market and she's had to call security a few times to get them to remove me from her booth. It's quite wonderful and, no, it has nothing to do with the Icelandic chocolate she's got stashed there. I also shared a plane ride with Gudrun and Yvonne ~ her very cool friend/helper ~ from Pittsburgh to Chicago this past Spring.
Over the course of twelve days ~ November 9th through November 20th ~ you're going to hang out with the following ladies:
Gudrun Erla ~ of G.E. Designs
Sandy Gervais ~ of Pieces From My Heart
Terry Atkinson ~ of Terry Atkinson Designs
Pat Sloan ~ of Pat Sloan
Heather Peterson ~ of Anka's Treasures
Pam Viera McGinnis ~ who everyone knows as PamKittyMorning!
Kari Carr ~ of New Leaf Stitches
Terri Dagenkolb ~ of Whimsicals
Sherri Falls ~ of This 'n That
Roseann Kermes ~ of Rosebud's Cottage
Linda Lum DeBono ~ of Linda Lum DeBono
And moi, of course. I hope.
To get the hop hopping, we're going to start with a contest involving some of these...
Everyone participating is going to have a baby!
Okay, not really. I just wanted to see if you were paying attention.
(And, just so you know, in the interest of full disclaimers and all that, the picture of this very cute little munchkin was shamelessly swiped from Heather ~ she's got so many cuties in the family.)
Gudrun collected early-childhood, holiday-related pictures from everyone. She's going to mix them up and send each of us someone else's picture. Each of us will post a picture on Wednesday, November 4th and you're going to get to play a little guessing game. Correctly identify the designer in the picture by Saturday, November 8th and you will be entered in a drawing to win a prize. There will be one drawing and prize on each blog. Twelve pictures... twelve drawings... twelve prizes.
Then on Sunday, November 9th, the blog hopping starts with Gudrun.
Each of us is going to post every day sharing favorite Christmas recipes, traditions and stories.
And each day, one of us will share a Christmas/Holiday project with you. Twelve days... twelve projects. Just think, if you make each daily project, you'll be ready for Christmas by Thanksgiving!
Uhmmm... did I mention that there were going to be prizes?
There is a Grand Prize! If you post at least once on all twelve of the blogs, you'll be entered to win a big box of goodies! I don't know what's in it but I'm betting it's going to be awesome since everyone is sending Gudrun something for the box.
There will also be daily prizes ~ leave on a comment on the blog with that day's Christmas project and you'll be entered in that designer's drawing! Twelve projects... twelve blogs... twelve drawings... twelve prizes!
By my count, that's at least 25 prizes!
And really... don't you think it's reasonable to expect that "some" of us will probably do more than just one?
So there you go... the Cross Country Christmas Quilt Designer Blog Hop.
(Try saying that fast three times!)
(No, there isn't a prize for doing that.)
There is a list of links to the left. Some of you might have seen it already... a certain techno-twit had to make sure she remembered how to put that whole dealybobber in the sidebar so she gave myself a couple of days to figure it out. When she got it right the first time, that scared her. Should she hide it? CAN she hide it? Uh, no. Does she remove it and hope she can remember how to do it again when she needs it? Uh, no. Short term memory... hers isn't what it used to be.
That's it for now ~ I'll see you on Wednesday.
Ahhh... this sounds like a lot f fun!!!! I attended the last blog hop and it was fun to get to "know" new designers..:o)
Thanks for writing on my blog... loved your comment about my Schnibble..... just sorry I couldn´t email you back.. you were set as a NO REPLY!!!! Hmmm...so I write here instead!! :o)

Wow...that sounds so ambitious. I'll try to keep up...but I'm so out of shape, I'll probably be winded by the 2nd day.
Thanks ever so much for everyone's generosity and Gudrun for her creativity.

This is going to be great!
You are so right about the process of creating the dealybobber on the sidebar. I have to reinvent the wheel each time I do it. You would think a person could remember.

Sounds like fun! I hope I can keep up!
