I like your little cornerstone churn dashes. So cute!

Karen

Well done, Carrie. Thanks for the pointer to QuiltJane, and all the tips for the Nested Churn Dash.

I LOVE your quilt! And your post was wonderful! And Jane is one of THE NICEST people...one of those people who makes you feel so welcome and like you have known them your whole life! So I know you will love meeting her in Houston in the fall!

PS I'm glad it's not 138 there...I'm having a hard enough time dealing with 109 this early in the summer here...

Lesley

Your quilt is adorable...love the way you combined the fabrics!

Angela Jean

I love your layout- I'm always impressed with your pieced borders and extra touches- thanks for sharing!

Pam

I've done a block with Jane before. So fun! I just enjoy her. I love how you change it up!

pam hansen

Wow! That was a super size post. Not complaining because I always enjoy your blog and like many of your other fans miss you during the absences.
I do think this will be a special QAL and look forward to seeing your quilt when it returns home.
Regarding your quilt you stated is to be queen size, do you allow for shrinkage from washing? I'm making a queen size for my daughter and wondered if that might be a consideration.

So nice to see you back on your blog. I know life gets in the way sometimes. You are inspiring me to get back to the sewing machine. That and my kids have told me I can't buy anymore fabric after they saw the stash I had in storage--that doesn't include the commandeered closets at the house...
Love your work, your quilts, your dog, and your attitude!

Candace

I love your nested churn dash quilt it's so cute with the little corner'churns' what a great idea!
And don't worry about the whole pattern change thing I'm doing the same. Because where's the fun if you follow orders, right? It's not that I don't love the patterns as they are (because why else would I make them?) but I always wanna make them more me.
Oh, and I love Aurifil thread it's great! And finally something that's cheaper in Germany than in the USA;-)
It's a holiday today here (Pfingstmontag), the temperatures are about 93°F and now I'm off doing some nesting!
Give a hug to Rosie (btw no Rosie picture!?!) and treat yourself with a bit of ice cream I think you deserve it for your great quilt:-)

Vicky

Bravo!

Thimbleanna

You. Are. Brilliant. I LOVE the little churn dashes in the sashing. I've always loved adding little stars to sashing, now I'll have to do a little churn dash here or there. I love this quilt and your version is FABULOUS!!!

Kristi

I love your quilt, Carrie! The sashing and borders really add to the quilt. I'm excited to get started! Thanks for all of your quilty inspiration!

Andee in aZ

Very creative, I LOVE how the setting stones are little churn dashes--too cute!

ina

oh, yeah, i'm gonna nest! i bought the pattern 2 weeks ago. gonna start this week! i hope, anyway. ;p

Lynn

You have inspired me to get started too, Carrie.

Anita

Love what you did with the sashing! Thanks for all the info :)

gogokim

LOVE LOVE LOVE you post and your quilt!!!!!

Teresa

This is the extra push I needed to make at least one nested churn dash block! Churn dash is probably my favorite block, so what's not to love about a nested churn dash block?
Like you, I've struggled to make multi pieced blocks come out the right size and finally found the little quirks my beloved Bernina had that kept me from sewing the exact sizes indicated in directions.
I bought that Bernina in 1997, right before the quilters edition machines appeared (quilts were not on my agenda at that time anyway), but very recently blessed myself with a jazzy new Janome 8900QCP. Yikes!
Haven't sewn a stitch just yet, but it's all set up and almost ready to go.... as soon as I get some bobbins loaded with thread and the machine threaded. I've already read the manual from cover to cover and will finally have time to play with the machine tomorrow night.
This block will be a great first project I do believe!

Karen

I'm drooling over your candy jar of Aurifil thread!
I just downloaded the pattern, and can't wait to get started. As, usual, I have more projects than I have time, but what quilter cannot relate to that? :-)
Your quilt is beautiful! The churn dash cornerstones are genius.

Lyn Kaufmann

Wow! Your churn dash is beautiful. I'd like to try out the pattern but it looks like it's over my head. I'm going to follow and maybe later this summer I'll feel up to the challenge.

Pam Larson

You are AMAZING! I love this so much..I may have to join in.

Frances Newcombe

I am beyond impressed by this! I adore all the fabrics you choose. I am truly impressed that you made a full quilt!
It's Stunning!

mdm s

now this is stunning design...i will certainly be cheering even in silence...you always know how to wow everything

Corrie

So nice! You're killing me with that cornerstone. Thanks for the thread info.

Helen Lebrett

Lovely!!! And now I wish I had a FQ bundle of that fabric instead of the charm squares that I have! :-) Love the cornerstones too: great idea!! And I just found a quilt done with your fabric at: http://jennysdoodlingneedle.blogspot.com/
go to the post on Sept 10, 2013. It's a beautiful quilt.
Hugs, H in Healdsburg

Archie The Wonder Dog

I love those little blocks in the sashing; they're a touch of genius!

Teri

I am obsessed with your cornerstones! How did you do that? Would love to know .
