As in, this is my 401st blog post.
And I couldn't think of another title.
More later - tomorrow - but I had a couple of things to tell you about.
Pat Sloan. You know Pat, right? Of course you know Pat! Quilt designer extraordinaire. Amazing teacher. Fabric designer! Thread guru. Radio talk show host. I know I'm forgetting about 78 other things but the main thing is, Pat is the brainiac behind the Aurifil Block of the Month. This is the fourth year - don't quote me on that - where Pat has invited a lovely group of quilty-people - designer types - to create a block for a Sampler Quilt. This year the designers included Brigitte Heitland, Amy Gibson, Emily Herrick, Angela Yosten, Amy Smart, Heidi Pridemore, Camille Roskelley, Pat Wys, Jane Davidson and Scott Hansen. And the amazing Natalia Bonner has provided all sorts of great tips and advice for machine quilting - you know she's uber-talented at that.
I'm Miss December.
You can read all about it on the Aurifil blog - and catch up with everybody else, their blocks and their interviews.
This is my block - Not Afraid of Flying
You can download the pattern for this block here.
I also want to let you know that the shop will be up for another week as there are some "new-old" PDF patterns coming in a couple of days. The "moving sale" continues - Code: MOVING for 30% off. :)
I'm off to run some errands today - big surprise, I need more moving boxes! - and then it's back to packing.
Happy Monday!
I have two wardrobe boxes I never used. They are still new if you need them. Good for light things too.

Thanks for the instructions for the December block. I've actually had something like that drawn by hand hanging over my sewing table. I now have definitive instructions :)
OH, and thanks for keeping the store open for a few extra days. I was so jazzed seeing the quilts you had on IG over the weekend so I went into a frenzy looking for the patterns online only to give up after a realizing that I'd have to spend more on shipping for 3 than the pattern would cost so I decided to wait and see what you had when you re-opened after the move. I especially loved Tag Sale and the color way you did it in. YES, I want to do it now in Paris Flea Market fabrics...I can't help it I'm a believer in if it works well, just copy it LOL I'll have to wait a bit though to get the fabrics......
Good luck with the move.....

Carrie,
If you happen to be in Dallas this weekend, our little group would love to have you be our guest at our holiday party on Saturday 12/6. Lots of games, good food, conversation and lots of fun. We are actually meeting in the Quilt Among Friends shop in Arlington!

Carrie, For some reason over the past few weeks, the only thing I could get on your site was the shop...no blog, no anything else. So....I worried. Knew you were moving and did chalk it up to that...but worried anyway. (It's the mom in me, cannot help it). So glad to know all is well, and you've got your new place and your move organized! Most excellent news. Saw your Aurifil BOM on Facebook late Sunday night or maybe early Monday morning - and commented there also and shared it on my page with my quilting friends - it's a lovely block. I'm planning to use it as the centrepiece for a little holiday gift I'm making for a friend. Will be watching for the reopening of the shop once you're moved and settled...and hope all goes very, very well!

Of course, this is my favorite of the Aurifil blocks - I love flying geese AND it's yours - hee heeee!! I confess to making blocks but not matching - you know, just to try them, have made some of them into other things. Good luck on the continuation of packing saga!
We are watching my sisters 2 Pappions (sp) (very little like long hair Chihuahuas.... We have become the official dog sitters, works, if we are around.

I wanted to order a few of your patterns and was worried b/c the Shop page didn't work, but then I read your blog posts. Too bad I didn't order a couple weeks ago. I hope you have another sale when you reopen - New Year/New Shop sale maybe.:) (I'm a new quilter, just finished my first top + lots of placemats - so fun!! I want to make Clover, Eventide, Come A to My House and Super Mario.) Have a wonderful and very merry Christmas!!!
